SMMware integrates with Zapier, as a way to communicate with a large number of other software packages. Zapier is ‘middleware’, such that SMMware can send a message to Zapier (Ex: There is a new client) and Zapier can pass that to another service (Such as Constant Contact). With new software packages being created every day, it becomes impractical that any given service would know how to talk directly to all of them. You can have an account at Zapier, and using their interface you set up Triggers (allowing other services to tell Zapier that something has happened), and Actions (allowing Zapier to tell a service about whatever has happened).
